Annual General Meeting 2023
Date: 20th of January 2023, 8PM
Venue: The Royal, 30 Station St, Pudsey LS28 8PR
After eventful and successful year of 2022, we are approaching the start of the new NORC 2023 season of exciting racing. We are eager to keep growing and stay eventful and deliver adrenaline to many race loving individuals.
But firstly, we would like to thank all those people involved who have helped us achieve and deliver year 2022 season of amazing events of racing and friendship.
The AGM is your opportunity to have your voice and time to express and elect the people to represent you in the coming season of 2023. We would like to invite you to take your time and nominate individuals you believe will do a great job and stay successful at representing the club. However big or small is the job, support is always welcome. If you are willing to join the Committee, this is the time to let us know. It’s not tough, help is always available, we need you! New ideas are always welcome. Please see pages 5 and 6 for nomination forms.
Calendar and Entries
NORC has a wonderful calendar for 2023 with interesting locations. All will be exposed at the AGM, so come along and find out what we have in store.
Sponsors
Sponsors’ contributions significantly help us to keep the costs down for entrants and create publicity for our events. NORC makes sure they get the acknowledgement and thanks they deserve. There is scheme in place to allow the sponsors the have the recognition they deserve. Without them we would not survive to keep going. If you or someone you know can sponsor NORC please get in touch - it’s cheaper than you think, with different packages to suit everyone.
Chairman and Committee
Some of us are standing for re-election but there is always room for new members who would like to join the committee. If you are interested just let us know. It’s your club and making decisions should be yours, therefore please attend the AGM and tell us what you think. Without any feedback of compliments or criticism we don’t know if we are doing everything possible in our measures for you and making the right decisions.

AGM
With increased interest in outdoor activities, including racing events, these require a lot of attention to detail. All the committee members give up their spare time to deliver an event which is both safe and enjoyable. Due to various individual and global things tend to change and this has also played a part in our committee. All the committee members still believe we have managed to make it possible to organize successful year with no exception of various obstacles.
We have had an amazing committee team in 2022. Where we have agreed and may have disagreed, but managed to do well, and we are thriving to do better.
Your opinions will be sought after at the AGM so come along and have your say. Please note, any proposals need to be sent in writing or by email no later than 3 days BEFORE THE AGM in order for them to be voted on.
Anyone with trophies from last year, please ensure we receive them back as soon as possible, as they will need to be engraved in time for the awards dinner dance in February.
We wish you all continued success in 2023 and we hope to see a positive attendance at the AGM, and of course at the presentation Dinner on 18th of February 2023. See our new website for tickets! Northern Off Road Club 2023 Dinner Dance | My Site (norc.org.uk)

NORC 2023 AGM Proposals
Committee Proposals
· Pay for a professional to time the events
o Resolve issues with Clerk of Course not being sure how to set up the timing system.
· All cars to have a rev counter so they can be checked for noise correctly
o If this is not done, then we will lose more land to noise issues. (IE, Tong, Deighton)
· All Events to have a Medical Recovery Unit Present in case of any accidents.
o Last event saw someone in pain wait 2 hours for an ambulance to arrive and this would have been too long if they had been seriously injured. This will also speed up the accident in a timelier manner and get racing going again.
Members Proposals
· What do people thing about 1 day events, propose equal split of 1 and 2 day events.
o Would people pay £150 for a 1 day event with the vision it takes up less time over the weekend only competing for 1 day.
· Drop the 50 round bonus points for attending all rounds.
o This is affecting people’s championship that have work or family commitments that they cannot get out of. (Unfair for a clubman championship)
§ Option 1, Drop
§ Option 2, Keep as is
§ Option 3, Remove 50 and add 10 points for every attended event.
· Drop number of rounds within the championship to 5 for 2024 championship.
o This could help reduce cost to complete the championship with fund being tight.
· Drop October Round that is currently TBC
o To save money on current championship costs.
· Championship Entry to be £100 but you get £10 discount at each event.
o To stop people entering the championship when they are not a serious contender.
· Points system to be changed for championship points.
o To give larger reward for people finishing above someone after 5thplace.
o Points system seem to close and only 1 point to fight for between 14th and 15th.
o New proposed points system along side current point system on page 8.
$Current Championship Points System Overall Position Points 1- 100, 2- 95, 3- 91, 4- 88, 5- 85, 6- 83, 7- 82, 8- 81, 9- 80, 10- 79, 11- 78, 12- 77, and so on by 1 diff
$New Proposed Championship Points System Overall Position Points 1- 120, 2- 110, 3- 105, 4- 101, 5- 98, 6- 96, 7- 94, 8- 92, 9- 90, 10- 88, 11- 86, 12- 84, and so on by 2 diff
· Saturday start time to be pulled forward to 12:30.
o Most events last year seemed to suffer a few stoppages so we’d run late or not get laps in, but on the 2 day events we only start day 1 at mid day. Just felt like there was always quite a lot of time at the beginning of each day where your just waiting to get going.
Committee Proposal Nomination Form
If you or someone you know are interested in a committee position for 2023, please complete the below form and send it back to the e-mail or address mentioned below. If you are worried about taking on a position and feel you are not experienced enough, the rest of the committee will be more than happy to assist. It is a great way to get to know how the club runs, meet new people, and get involved with running events behind the scenes. Some of the positions do not take up much time, although one committee meeting per month is usually necessary. Feel free to speak to current committee members if it’s something you may be interested in.
Many of the existing committee members are happy to take the same position again, although many would be happy to give it to someone else if they wanted it.
ALL POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO BE VOTED ON.
